The Northeast Physician Recruiter (NEPRA) is a Shared Interest Group (SIG) of the Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment (AAPPR). Our mission is to impact health care access through education, research, and the elevation of the physician and provider recruitment industry. We empower industry experts through education, research, and engagement. NEPRA members are from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

Ariana began her health care career in 2009 with Baystate Health in Springfield, MA. Baystate Health Baystate Health is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system serving over 800,000 people throughout western New England. The organization consist of Baystate Medical Center: a teaching hospital, and the region’s only level 1 trauma center, Baystate Children’s Hospital: the region’s only accredited, full-service children’s hospital, Three community hospitals, A network of more than 80 medical practices, Health New England, a health insurance provider, Home care and hospice services, and a comprehensive regional laboratory and diagnostic center. ... Ariana received her bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management in 2013 and her MBA in Healthcare Leadership in 2015. Ariana has been in the healthcare field since 2009 and has held various roles at Baystate Health. Her experiences include working as a front line staff member on the Cardiac Unit, Bed Management and Talent Acquisition. Since 2015 she has worked as a Physician and Advanced Practitioner Recruiter. Ariana partners with leadership and service line team members to achieve their strategic recruitment goals. She is passionate about the patient experience, diversity and assisting in finding incredible providers to improve the health of our patients and community. Ariana has been a member of both a NEPRA and AAPPR member since 2015. In 2020 Ariana joined our NEPRA Board as Secretary. She is honored to represent NEPRA and looks forward to collaborating with other physician and AP recruiters alike.

Jacqui is a physician and APP recruiter with Dartmouth Health, New Hampshire’s only academic health system which employs more than 1,800 primary and specialty care physicians. Jacqui has held various roles in healthcare administration since 2013 and has worked for Boston Children’s Hospital, Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC and joined the Dartmouth Health system in 2015. ... Jacqui joined the provider recruitment team at Dartmouth in 2020 as a physician and APP recruiter and has enjoyed every step of the way. Her focus is on cultivating strong partnerships with the departments and sections she supports to bring quality care to New Hampshire’s Upper Valley and surrounding communities. In her spare time Jacqui enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, dog and soon baby!

Carolina is currently the Director of Provider Recruitment, Onboarding and Retention, at UMass Memorial Health, the largest health care system in Central Massachusetts and clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School. Her career in Physician Recruitment began in July 2014, within 2 months she attended her first national physician recruitment conference and found her tribe. Carolina's career spans 20+ years in Recruitment and Human Resources, but nothing compares to the "3D Tetris" that is Physician Recruitment. ... Carolina lives less than an hour from Boston and less than 20 minutes from Cape Cod, she loves all that Massachusetts and the Northeast has to offer. Carolina has served as NEPRA Co-Chair for the 2018 & 2019 annual NEPRA Educational Symposiums and on the website committee. Carolina has been a member of NEPRA since 2016 and finds it a privilege to get to advocate for her fellow Physician and APP Recruiters and works daily to elevate our work and worth. Carolina likes to emphasize that our value as Physician Recruiter and Advanced Practice Recruiters is far beyond filling requisitions, that we should be recognized for the role we provide in building care teams, creating patient access, generating revenue, and playing a direct role in enriching communities by bringing great, Physicians, and Advanced Practice Practitioners to provide patient care and save lives.
MaryKate Friend is a Provider Recruiter at Northern Light Health, which is an integrated healthcare delivery system comprised of 10 member hospitals across Maine. She currently does the provider recruitment for three out of these 10 hospitals, with two additional entities within the system. ... MaryKate started her healthcare career in the military. MaryKate served 7 years as a medic health specialist in the Army and ultimately in the National Guard before transitioning to a career as a civilian in healthcare. MaryKate has held diverse roles in healthcare including medical assisting, practice management and most recently, for the past 4 years as a Provider Recruiter. MaryKate’s diverse experience has provided her a unique prospective on provider recruitment’s important role in the healthcare realm. She believes that continued follow-up and communication are the essential ways to success. During MaryKate’s tenure as a practice manager, she was able to appreciate and value provider recruitment as an essential partner in staffing her practices. Nowadays, MaryKate can translate that experience into providing a streamlined process for the practice managers that she works with as well as a high level of candidate experience for those providers that she is currently recruiting. MaryKate is passionate about ensuring that the function of provider recruitment is not only timely but effective, as that ‘time does kill deals’ and at the end of the day patient access is a true determinant of success. In her free time, MaryKate enjoys spending time with family, her role as a ‘dog-mom’, and all her DIY projects at her home. She particularly enjoys relaxing with her husband and grown children and recently earned the title of ‘Mammie’!

Jennifer Gaudreau, CPRP is the Physician Placement Professional at the Office of Primary Care (OPC) Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Program of the Robert Larner M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. In this role, Jennifer works with medical students, residents, and fellows to support them to choose careers within the State of Vermont. Jennifer educates and counsels students and residents about VT AHEC’s Educational Loan Repayment Program and scholarship opportunities as incentives to practice medicine in Vermont and reduce educational debt. ... Jennifer is passionate about helping job seekers find their right-fit job opportunities in all settings and all specialties throughout Vermont. Each of these OPC/AHEC workforce pipeline development, recruitment, and retention efforts rely on Jennifer’s trusted relationships and excellent rapport with hospital- and practice-base recruiters, administrators, managers, human resource professionals, and CEOs. Prior to joining the University of Vermont, Jennifer worked at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans, VT as their in-house Physician Recruiter for 5 years, after working in progressive outreach roles in Community Relations for 15 years. Andrea Leland, MBA, CPRP is the Manager of Physician Recruitment for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, New Hampshire’s only academic health system which employs more than 1,800 primary and specialty care physicians. Andrea oversees all aspects of recruitment of physicians and advanced practice providers throughout the system and manages a team of 10. ... She has been employed by Dartmouth-Hitchcock for 17 years, and previously worked in Credentialing and Privileging before joining the Talent Acquisition team as a Physician Recruiter in 2017. Andrea is passionate about healthcare issues related to regulatory compliance, rural healthcare and immigration. She obtained her Yellow belt in Continuous Improvement certification by the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Value Institute for a project on decreasing the cycle time to select and onboard Locum Providers. In her previous role in the Medical Staff Office, Andrea worked with clinical leaders to develop and implement a standardized privileging and scope of practice process in accordance with national accreditation standards for the Dartmouth-Hitchcock system.

Lindsay Hamilton is the System Director for Provider Recruitment and Retention for Northern Light Health, an integrate heath delivery system in Maine consisting of 10 member hospitals and over 12,000 team members. ... Having been in the recruitment industry for 20+ years, Lindsay has a true appreciation for the staffing industry and the importance of recruiting a strong and engaged workforce. Lindsay’s professional experience has been in the education and healthcare industries with a strong focus in strategic leadership and hard to fill positions. She prides herself in finding 'purple squirrels' and connecting them with amazing long-term opportunities. As a board member of NEPRA, Lindsay is able grow provider recruiter networks, mentor provider recruiters, and give back to her colleagues within the provider recruitment field. Lindsay believes that one of the best strategies in recruitment is being able to design strategic plans for recruitment that align with healthcare delivery objectives. In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys the title of ‘sports mom’, cheering her kiddos on from the sidelines with her husband.

Chelsea Pelletier is the Manager of Provider Recruitment and Retention for Northern Light Health, an integrated health delivery system serving Maine, made up of 10 member hospitals and 12,000 employees that is committed to making healthcare work for our patients, communities, and employees. Born and raised in Maine, Chelsea is a native of Madawaska. She has been in the physician recruitment industry since 2016 and prior to this, worked as a Human Resources manager for a local non-profit organization bringing several years of recruitment experience to her role at Northern Light Health. ... She is a graduate of the University of Maine at Augusta and is a Certified Provider Recruitment Professional (CPRP) with the Association of Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment as well as a certified professional (SHRM-CP) with the Society of Human Resources. Growing up in a small town with limited healthcare resources, she’s energized by having a key role in healthcare access through hiring and retaining talented providers. Through her work, she’s had opportunities to connect with so many great providers and their families and this has been her favorite part of her work thus far. She’s looking forward to her term on the NEPRA board and is hopeful to spread the word of the important work this team is doing with others in the industry.

Paige is a driven and energetic recruitment professional. She began her career in provider recruitment at WVU Medicine, an academic medical center and West Virginia’s largest healthcare provider; with focus on surgical services, orthopaedics and pediatrics. She also spent time as a Provider Recruitment Coordinator at a community hospital in Northampton, MA giving her diverse experience in both academic and community practice environments. ... Paige focuses on forming strong relationships within the organization to achieve department recruitment goals. She is passionate about building meaningful relationships with her candidates and their families, and she loves being able to make a positive impact of patient care through her recruiting. Her recruiting focus has most recently been on Hospital Medicine, Primary Care, and Cancer Services. Paige also sits on the board for Academic In-House Recruiters (AIR), and believes by joining NEPRA as a Member-at-Large she can share her ideas and make a positive impact.
